Andrea Huisgen back as Miss Universe Spain 2012

Earlier this year, a news spread out that Miss Espana, the most prestigious and oldest pageant in Spain who is responsible for choosing Spain's representatives for Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss International (also the former selector of Miss Earth representatives), faced bankruptcy which led to the demotion of the Spain's Miss Universe franchise from them.

It was such on time that the reigning queen is Andrea Huisgen's, and was supposedly going to Miss Universe 2012, participation was dropped. The franchise was awarded to a new franchise holder namely Be Beautiful Spain LR.

But, Huisgen was quick. Not long the franchise was awarded to another holder, she flew to the Miss Universe Organization headquarters in New York City, paid 15,000 euros and became Spain's official representative for Miss Universe 2012. She later posted the news to her Twitter.

Now the big questions are, where are the new organizers? Are they planning for a move? Stay tuned.

Separate pageant for Miss World Venezuela 2012

Miss Venezuela 2012 candidates. Winners will go to Miss Universe,
Miss World, Miss International, Miss Earth 2013

( Caracas, August 20. Noticias24 ) In response to the request of the Miss World Organization and after a meeting between the President, Mrs Julia Morley and his counterpart Osmel Sousa, the Miss Venezuela Organization has decided to adjust the parameters of the realization of the Miss Venezuela pageant .

The competition is divided into two events: one to crown Miss Venezuela Universe, Miss International and Miss Earth Venezuela Venezuela and another to choose the representative of our country at Miss World.

So, in this 60th edition of the competition, not be chosen Miss World Venezuela . This choice will be made next year in a special program, where the queen will be crowned among a new group of participants.

History Repeated Itself: Post-controversies and Deja Vus of Miss World 2012

China PR's Wen Xia Yu, the 62nd Miss World

It was 5 years ago when China PR won it's very first Miss World crown and it was 5 years ago when the crown was back in Asia in the persona of Zhang Zi Lin.

About 106 contestants competed at Miss World 2007 and all of them were vested by the home turf's representative. Controversies also aroused that year for it is the first time that a host country girl won outside the United Kingdom where the first editions of Miss World were held. Some said that Julia Morley made China PR win in order to please the Chinese. Nevertheless, it was clear that Zhang won because of her own merits and efforts, therefore, we considered it as a well-deserved victory for China.

5 years after, History repeated itself. 23-year old Wen Xia Yu of China PR wins China PR's second Miss World crown again in it's home turf. Both Zhang and Wen wore the same (or maybe almost) shade of gown.

History also repeated itself, as for the past 10 years the successors of the Miss World winners failed to place in the semifinals. The recent was Venezuela's Gabriella Ferrari who failed to place last night. The question is, will the list go on next year with China PR's next representative?

Zhang Zi Lin also seated as one of the judges last night which others might taught that she favored China PR to win.

The Final Leaderboard was also a controversial one as wrong ranking was presented. Complains, inquiries and dismays aroused.

As you can see India came first with only 271 points over China PR who got 294 points. And the most shocking, United States placing 12th with only 152 points placing only at one challenge event. Colombia and Venezuela who got 200+ points were left out in the Top 15. The Leaderboard was sort of jumbled.

The winner of the World Fashion Designer Award wasn't presented last night. Before the pageant, rumors said that Philippines won the award yet, because of the territorial dispute of Philippines and China PR, maybe the Chinese pleaded not to present the award for it might focus the spotlight to the Philippines.

On the Miss World speech portion, South Sudan answered the best (for us and many more websites) yet failed to place at the Top 3.

Miss World 2012 is China PR!

23-year old Wen Xia Yu wins Miss World 2012 at the Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium, Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China. 1st Runner Up is Sophie Moulds (Wales) and the 2nd Runner Up is Jessica Kahawaty (Australia)

Top 7 finalists are Brazil, India, Jamaica and South Sudan who is debuting this year at the pageant. Completing the Top 15 are England, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, Spain, and United States.

The event started with a cultural presentation of the Mongolian culture by local dancers, then the 116 delegates of Miss World paraded their way to the stage and then were introduced.

Next was the Challenge Events review. South Sudan led the first phase of the Leaderboard as the Interview scores were revealed. Next the Top Model challenge event, South Sudan remained at the first spot as she won the Top Model challenge event. Beach Fashion challenge event was won by Wales. The Talent challenge event was won by China PR. India won the Multimedia Award and the Beauty with a Purpose award. However, the World Fashion Designer Award winner wasn't announced.

After all the Challenge events score are added here is the Final Leaderboard bearing the Top 15 who will fight for the next round!

After the Top 15 were announced, was the Dances of the World. All 116 delegates appeared on the stage wearing their traditional/national costumes. After, the Top 15 semifinalists were welcomed back on the stage and a short profile about their selves were shown

Next was the announcement of the Top 7 finalists. Then they presented their Miss World speech on why they should be the next Miss World. In our own view, South Sudan answered the best.

The moment has finally arrives-the announcement of the new Miss World and her court. 2nd Runner Up is Australia, 1st Runner Up is Wales and Miss World 2012 is CHINA PR! The crowd went wild as the hometown girl won.

After the pageant, this girls proceeded to the Miss World 2012 Coronation Ball where the Continental Queens were revealed. Queen of Asia Pacific is China PR, Europe is Wales, Africa is South Sudan, Caribbean is Jamaica and Americas is Brazil.

Trivia:

-Countries who placed last year are Philippines, England, Indonesia, and Spain.

-China PR won it's 2nd Miss World crown, the last time was in 2007 with Zhang Zi Lin who also served as a judge last night.
