:: NOVI SAD - SERBIA :: Travel tips ::
I was in Serbia for the New Year and it was great! Novi Sad is such a great city, it`s not too big and yet enough vibrant. If you ever have a chance, go and feel/live it! ;)
I already did some travel posts, but I always just showed you photos, not saying much about them. This time I decided to do a bit of guide like post & I hope you`ll like it.
Oh, and I won`t do the basics...the language, the money, the safety....for that, read a book or smth before leaving home (but don`t believe everything you read). ;)

Welcome to Novi Sad !
Walk through the streets, cuz that way you can discover the best of the city.
MARKET
Visit the market and buy some of the local stuff, I suggest "pogačice" (200g = 100din), cheese & kajmak!
+ if you take your time, you can also find some cool clothes (negotiation is common).
See what the locals have to offer you ..
ON THE STREET
Take a moment and admire the street art / or take a photo of it and admire it later. :)
Go for a cafe at Atina (Trg Slobode, Novi Sad) - beautiful cafe in the center! ;)
Enjoy in the street music, usually performed by "trubači" (dont really know how to say it diferently) & don`t forget to show them your support.
+ there is many street dogs, that are more than happy to follow you around all day. So, if they decide to be your friends, be so kind and give them some of your love. ;)
Eat a hamburger with "lepinja" (bread) + "pleskavica" or "čevapčiči". You can choose your own toppings + vegetables which is pretty cool ( the burgers are heavenly good) + good prices (from 150din to 300din).
Don`t event think about going to McDonald`s or something...you have to be really stupid to do that!
Also try to find "Sarma", it`s perfect for when you have enough of meat, even though there`s a meat inside. :)
...and for the veggies "Pita sa sirom" / burek .( cheese pie ) / Price: 100din - 150din /
SIGHTSEEING
Don`t forget to do some sightseeing!
NIGHTLIFE
& when the night starts, go to the party street "Ulica Laze Telečkog" and for sure you will find something for your taste & take your camera with you, cuz there is a big chance you won`t remember much the next day. Oh, and don`t be surprised if you will finish your night in some living room of a friend you just met! ;)
We tried out a couple of pubs, first night we started/finished at Ze Bar, small but it was a crazy atmosphere (some funny things happened there), Two dogs was great (but that`s on a main street) - Serbian rock/rock`n`roll all night long, Only fools and Horses (the most expensive beer we could find + we were alone in there, so I`d say = not cool.) + there was a super cool pub (but i dont remember the name) in three floors with live music (maybe "Shamrock bar" or "Lazino Tele" or neither...sorry for this one).
Anyway, take a stroll down the street and follow the music you like and you`ll find your place to be. ;)
Rakija = Serbian drink that makes you party hard :) (price: 80din to 150din)
Beer = price: 150din - 300din
+ I loved the cafe (Culture Exchange) on this photo, but I`ll introduce it to you in a new post, cuz there is a lot to say and show! ;) *we spend the New Year`s Ewe here
SLEEPING
Don`t know much about it, but we stayed in the "City Hostel" which was great! The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed & good + the prices are really affordable.
I hope I helped you with some tips or maybe convinced you to visit Novi Sad, because it really is a great city! ;)

Miss Tourism International 2012 is Philippines
December 31, 2012 -- Last day of the year. But Philippines' supremacy as "Country of the Year" didn't end up until Janine Tugonon's 1st Runner-Up finish in the 2012 Miss Universe pageant which was held in Las Vegas, Nevada last December. Last pageant of the year and a great way to end the year for Philippines as Rizzini Alexis Gomez wins the Miss Tourism International 2012 title and the crown in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After 11 years, Rizzini is the 2nd Filipina to win the pageant. First Filipina to win this pageant was Maria Esperanza Manzano in 2000.
Rizzini is a registered nurse and she also joined some national pageants in her country one of those was in Miss World Philippines and Mutya ng Pilipinas wherein she won as "Mutya ng Pilipinas - Tourism 2012." Rizzini did not expected to win the crown. Her goal for herself during the pageant was to enter the Top 10. When she got into the top 10, their final question and answer was to identify one festival in their country and explain why it is unique. This was the winning answer of Gomez,
"One important festival in the Philippines is the Sinulog Festival. It's one of the grandest and most colorful festivals in the Philippines. 'It's unique because of the undying devotion of the Filipinos to the Senor Sto. Nino Child Jesus. It's a symbol of our culture and heritage, our unity as one, and our diversity and bringing people together to promote our traditions for a brighter future."
If Philippines' Janine Tugonon have the so-called, "COBRA WALK" and if Shamcey Supsup have the "TSUNAMI WALK", Rizzini said that she has the "RIZZI WALK" she explains that the "Rizzi Walk" is about herself. The walk itself shows her personality. Now, a great journey begins for Rizzini as she is Miss Tourism International 2012. Here are the official results of Miss Tourism International 2012:

8. Favorite DIY project / Najljubši "naredi sam" projekt
I picked one of my DIY`s and I couldn`t really decide between the Christmas Tree & this ornaments, but in the end I decided for the ornaments, cuz I already talked about the tree a lot. ;)
/ Izbrala sem enega izmed svojih "naredi sam" projektov, ampak sem imela kar probleme pri izbiri med smrekico in okraski iz das mase. Na koncu so prevladali okraski, ker se mi zdi, da je o smrekici že bilo dovolj govora. ;)
9. What is the best thing to do in Winter time?
Well, I like to stay in, being cozy on the bed with a book or a movie + I don`t mind outdoor activities as well. ;)

Ne bom zapravljala veliko besed za želje, ker se mi zdi, da se vsako leto ponavljam, tako da bom rekla samo, da vam želim da bi 2013 bi bilo tako dobro kot je bilo 2012 ali pa še boljše! ;)
p.s. Včeraj smo se vrnili iz Novega Sada, sedaj pa sledi malce počitka, da se spravim v red in potem pridejo same kul objave. ;) Kako ste pa kaj preživeli novoletni večer?

Katherine Webb, AJ McCarron Dating: Auburn Alum Beauty Queen With Alabama QB (PHOTOS)
Miss Alabama Katherine Webb is an Auburn alum. Given her alma mater's rivalry with University of Alabama, you'd think she might think twice about dating 'Bama quarterback AJ McCarron.

We jest. Others do not. In fact, the Ledger-Inquirer got "a necessary disclaimer" from Webb once the relationship was announced.
“I’m not trying to sabotage Alabama,” Webb, who confirmed her relationship Friday, told the newspaper. "Honestly, it's just a game."
But that sentiment hasn't stopped Webb from tweeting her support for Alabama.
The Alabama Crimson Tide is favored to win a second straight national title, but according to Bleacher Report, it'd be unwise to expect Notre Dame's defense to knuckle under.
"We are more than convinced that the Crimson Tide will roll to a second straight national title, but it would be foolish to lay 9.5 points against the best defense in the country," the website noted, commenting on the championship game's spread.
